Car park near the church, along the cemetery on Grand'Rue.
(S/E) Walk up Grand'Rue to the church and turn right before the town hall onto Rue de l'Église, then continue along Rue du Vignoble. At no. 76, turn right onto the lane towards Wineck Castle. Go up a tarmac road through the vineyards, which turns right higher up with the castle in sight. Go around the castle to the west; access is via the path leading from the crossroads at the top (beautiful view of Katzenthal).
After Wineck Castle, return to the crossroads.
(1) Continue uphill for a few metres, then leave the road and turn left, following the red disc markings towards Galtz.
Cross a road to continue on the path opposite, then a little further up, turn left and enter the forest. Ignore several successive paths on either side and stay on the red disc markings until you reach a fork.
(2) Turn right, following the blue disc markings towards Château de Hohnack. (Ignore the red disc markings leading directly down to Niedermorschwihr). After a few hundred metres, the path meets another marked path.
(3) Turn left twice, following the signs for Galtz (still blue discs).
Arrive at the Galtz Monument and climb up to enjoy the view.
Descend via the same path (towards Turckheim).
(4) Leave the blue disc markings and turn right, following the yellow triangle markings towards the Pfaffenrod Rocks.
Further down, cut across a path and continue downhill, turn left, cut across another forest path and turn right, then take a path that descends to the left parallel to the path.
You will arrive at the Pfaffenrod Rocks with a secure platform, from where you can enjoy a beautiful view of Colmar and Turckheim.
(5) After the rocks, continue along the yellow triangle marked trail, climbing slightly towards Trois Épis.
You will arrive at a forest path which you follow for a few metres, then take the path descending to the left towards the Croix Roggenmoser. Near the chalets, the path turns left for a short descent in hairpin bends. At the crossroads, the path joins the Green Ring markings.
(6) Turn right. You will arrive at Croix Roggenmoser, at the edge of the RD 11.2 departmental road. Follow the road downstream for a few dozen metres.
(7) Turn right onto a flat path above the road, marked with a yellow triangle, towards Hunnabuhl. Further on, the marked trail descends to the right. You will arrive at the first houses in Hunnabuhl.
(8) Immediately turn right to stay below the houses, marked with a blue horse, towards the Saint-Wendelin Chapel. Further on, continue straight ahead downhill. The path leads to the crossroads below the Saint-Wendelin Chapel.
(9) At the chapel, turn left, following the blue cross markings, towards Niedermorschwihr.
(10) Further on, at the edge of the forest, leave the main path and turn left through the vineyards (opposite a concrete path on the right), keeping the Niedermorschwihr bell tower in sight (the sign is marked on the map but is not visible on site).
When you reach a road, head down towards the village (marked with a blue cross) to the church, continue right along Rue de l'Église, then left along Rue des Bruyères, then turn right at the traffic lights.
(11) At the traffic lights, turn left and follow the yellow triangle markings towards Katzenthal. Follow Rue du Vignoble to the right. At the end, turn left up into the vineyards, still following the yellow triangle markings, until you reach a hairpin bend to the left.
(12) At the bend, continue straight ahead towards Katzenthal (ignore the climb up Sommerberg). Once you reach Katzenthal, go down Grand'rue on the right to return to the starting point (S/E).
