Description of the walk

The starting point is on the road from Morosaglia to Castineta, the D639 (Castineta is a lovely village well worth a visit), just before the village; take the track on the right when coming from Morosaglia: signposted ‘Taponzoli’.

(S/E) Follow the track as it descends northwards. Walk down to the hamlet of Taponzoli.

(1) Enter the hamlet of Taponzoli, making sure to close the gates properly. Follow the path downwards.

(2) At the old mill and the bridge over the Conca Stream (signposted ‘Ponte a Conca’), take the path on the right after the bridge. The path climbs up to Querceto, then Convento (a village in Morosaglia).

(3) In the hamlet of Convento, turn left onto the path running alongside the last house, heading downhill towards Sevasi. It joins a road; follow this straight on to Sevasi.

(4) Continue to the end of the road, then follow the path as it continues. You’ll reach the bridge over the Ruisseau de Conca once more.

(2) After crossing the bridge in the opposite direction to the way there, take a path on the right.

(5) At a fork in the road, take the path on the right as it descends (cairn). You will reach the hamlet of Taponzoli.

(1) Follow the route you took on the way there in the opposite direction to reach the Castineta D639 road (S/E).

Worth a visit

This walk takes you through the hamlets of Morosaglia along ancient paths.
It presents no particular difficulty apart from a few slightly steep sections.
It starts on the road to Castineta (which we recommend you visit) [see photo]: sign for ‘Taponzuli’.
The track descends to the hamlet of Taponzuli.
You then need to pass between the houses, going through two small gates in succession [see photos].
Following the path beyond the hamlet, you’ll reach an old mill and the bridge: Ponte A Conca [see photo].
Cross the bridge and take the path on the right alongside the stream.
After about 100 m, the path veers left, climbing up a rough staircase [see photo].
This path leads to the hamlet of Querceto [see photo], which you must pass through (gate) and then take a good track on the left leading to the outskirts of Morosaglia.
Then, after passing some rubbish bins, take a path on the left [see photo] alongside the first houses (signposted ‘Sevasi’).
This path, which is more or less in steps, descends to the hamlet of Sevasi.
After passing through Sevasi, the path to the left takes you back to the Ponte A Conca bridge.
After crossing it in the opposite direction, on the way back it’s worth taking a shaded path on the right [see photo] that follows the stream.
At a large tree stump [see photo], take a path on the right.
The path gradually leads back to the track you started on and then to the road.

Lovely hamlets, but the explanations are lacking and there are no signposts.
