Park in the car park opposite the school complex.
(S/E) Opposite the secondary school, turn left and climb to the top of the village, follow the cemetery, pass the church and reach a fork.
(1) Turn right towards Montmaire, cross the hamlet and enter the vineyards to rejoin the D210A
(2) Cross and turn right/left to reach a road. Turn right and leave the road in the hairpin bend to rejoin the vineyards by turning right. Pass two turnings on the right and continue to the hamlet of Les Grangeons.
(3) Continue straight up towards the large hamlet of Monthoux. Leave a path on your right and, at the next crossroads, take a sharp right turn to reach the hamlet.
(4) Note the chapel on the right as you arrive. At the junction with the D44, turn left onto the road, then leave it and make a U-turn to the left to reach Crêt de Monthoux, 5 minutes away.
Return the same way.
(4) Continue straight ahead on the D44 towards the south-east.
(5) At the end of the hamlet, leave the D44 and turn left up the track. At the first fork, turn left.
(6) After about 100 metres, turn left again onto the path heading north for a long crossing during which the descent begins.
Pass two turnings on the left, then turn left at the next fork. Ignore all the paths on the left and continue to the Y-junction at Le Chapieu.
(7) Continue downhill to the left. Turn left at the first crossroads, then turn left again a few dozen metres further on. Take the second path on the right and continue to a crossroads.
(8) Turn left at a 90° angle and continue straight ahead at all intersections. The road makes a sharp right turn, then a second left turn about 350 m further on, and joins Gerbaz.
(9) Cross the road and take the path opposite. At the crossroads, turn left, then right at the next fork to come out, after a short climb, onto the D210. Cross it and continue opposite to reach the altitude of 403 m with a crossroads.
(10) Turn left and head south-west. After passing some farmland, the road turns into a path and descends through box trees, first heading south-west then south-east, until it comes out onto a road.
(11) Take it on the left, going downhill, pass the hamlet of "La Platière" and reach an intersection.
(12) Turn right and go straight ahead at the crossroads just after to continue descending south-east. Follow the campsite and then turn left to go around the leisure park.
(13) Return to the D210e and follow it to the left to reach the village (S/E).

I did this lake circuit for the third time, but this Sunday, after the fog lifted, I found sunshine at the summit, but not for long. The tree that was reported to be across the path has been cut and the path cleared. No other comments, as there were only four hikers on the circuit.
very pretty route accessible to all
