Departure from the Col du Chat car park.
(S/E) Take the path that heads to the right (the one furthest to the right of the cross).
(1) When you reach the hamlet, take the road on the left towards Grand Villard. Leave the path to Gratte Loup on your left.
(2) Immediately take the road on the right that leads to the "Chat Perché". At the end of the housing estate, turn onto the path in the meadow. On the right, you can make a round trip to the Castor viewpoint. Join the road just before the cemetery.
(3) Shortly after the cemetery, turn right down a small path under the trees, signposted Belvédère de la Chapelle.
(4) When you reach the chapel, you will find two viewpoints offering magnificent views of Lake Bourget and the surrounding mountains. Picnic tables are available. Return to the road, then turn left and go up into the woods. Return to the departmental road. Leave the road that climbs up to Grand Villard on your left.
(5) Shortly afterwards, descend to the right into the meadow, then head into the forest until you reach the Ronda viewpoint.
(6) Retrace your steps and head right towards Les Bessons. When you reach the road, turn left until you reach the departmental road. Continue right, pass a hairpin bend on the left, then in the next hairpin bend, go straight up into the meadow and then into the forest. Follow the signs for La Chapelle-du-Mont-du-Chat.
(7) At the foot of the chapel, turn right, then take the first street on the right.
(8) At the end of this street, take the grassy path. From here, there are no more signposts. Go through a gate and head straight ahead into the field. Keep to the right along a low stone wall. Continue straight ahead until you reach Gratte-Loup.
(9) Take the street on the right, pass between the houses, towards the forest.
(10) At the last house, go straight up into the woods (pass two barriers). Then follow the signs for Col du Chat. On the way, you can make a return trip to the Biche viewpoint with a view of the Dent du Chat and the Chevelu lakes. Arrive at the pass car park (S/E).
