Gosné walks

The Étang d’Ouée, the destination of this walk, is a body of water ideal for beginners to canoeing and kayaking. Close to the village of Gosné, the route takes you along quiet country lanes but mainly through sunken lanes, which may have small streams running through the middle after heavy rain.

A very pleasant walk in the forest of Saint-Aubin-du-Cormier with a return to the pond. Walkers can continue their visit to this small town by pushing on to the ruins of the dismantled castle.

A short trail in Brittany’s countryside with a section along the Veuvre that winds before flowing into Chevré lake. Do not miss the small Roman bridge with its stone arches.

This route of the Couesnon can be divided into two parts: a circular route to the west and another to the east, the latter of which can be shortened. The Couesnon has a very winding course as it crosses the granite massif. Its limestone-free water was used for a long time in paper mills in the 17th century. With this industry now gone, the Couesnon is a delight for salmonids and kayakers alike.

A return trip from Saint-Ouen-des-Alleux to Saint-Christophe-de-Vilains through a lush forest, offering views of an old stone bridge spanning the Minette.

After walking along the Couesnon, which is calm and peaceful on this section, walkers are invited to discover a small stream that feeds it: the Vallées d'Hervé stream. Then, despite a few open sections, walkers will appreciate the peaceful shade of the undergrowth and sunken paths.

4-hour hike (hence its medium difficulty). A little road and quite a few paths. You will cross the Couesnon and Minette valleys.

A short hike in the Rennes forest along shady forest lines and paths through the forest alongside the Caleuvre stream. This easy trail is particularly beautiful in early spring, when the beech trees have young, light-green leaves, or in autumn, when the leaves have turned yellow and red. It takes you along the old water supply line that brought water from the Minette (a tributary of the Couesnon) to Rennes.

This hike takes us from the Ille and Rance Canal to the plateau north of Chevaigné via the eastern slopes of the Ille. It allows us to discover the charm of the locks, the sunken paths and the countryside with its hamlets. It is very varied and colourful in spring and autumn. This hike can be extended to include the "Les coteaux de l'Ille à Chevaigné" hike, with which it shares the same starting/finishing point.

This walk has a charm that lies in the many sunken paths it takes along the slopes of the Ille, west of Chevaigné. Sometimes lined with hundred-year-old oak trees, you can enjoy the peace and quiet, the colours and nature. Sometimes with a wide view over the Ille valley, it allows you to discover the Ille and Rance canal below, the meadows and hamlets. Very colourful in spring and autumn, shaded in summer, passable in winter: a walk for all weathers!

A short walk along the banks of the Vilaine and Chevré rivers, also known as La Veuvre, taking you around Acigné. Please note that during periods of heavy rain, some parts of the route may be flooded.

A pretty, easy, well-marked walk passing by a chapel, the Château du Gué, the Ancienne Fonderie de Servon-sur-Vilaine, the Oratoire Saint-Mathurin, the Vilaine, the old mill, the protected Pas Davy site, the greenhouses (mainly tomatoes) and the calvary. The return journey takes you along a leafy driveway through a housing estate.

A picturesque walk in the Coglais region, presenting no difficulty. Peace and tranquillity are its main attractions.

This hike is an opportunity to discover the charm of the countryside south of Betton, with a return trip along the towpath of the Ille and Rance Canal. More than half of the route is dedicated to cyclists and hikers. The rest of the route consists of dead-end roads with little traffic. You will discover the Haut Chalet lock, the hamlets of Vau Robion and Les Lices, and the Moulin de la Charbonnière site with its wash house. Colourful, cool and peaceful. Can also be done by motorbike.

This route will take you through the Châteaubourg countryside where, as its name suggests, there are several ponds: Pont de Pierre Pond, Roches Bises Pond and Grand Fayelle Pond. You will also walk along a small section of the Corbière Forest. This route is FFRandonnée certified. It can be done on foot or by bike.
