Park at the football pitch on Allée du Stade in Vieux-Vy-sur-Couesnon.
(S/E) Cross Rue Pierre Hubert to reach Rue des Étangs. Continue on the D320. After a short descent, you will arrive at a large crossroads. Take the first right to go back up. A small path will be visible on the left 50 metres further on.
(1) Take this path. It runs alongside the valley stream and up the side of small hills.
At the end of this path, you will come to a road. Turn right and continue for about ten metres before taking another path on the left. This path runs alongside the Couesnon. You will also pass a quarry.
(2) At the end of this path, take the road on the left and cross the Couesnon via a bridge.
(3) Immediately after the bridge, turn right towards the Moulin du Pont Brard. Continue straight ahead along the Minette. Take the path that goes up to the left, opposite the house. You will arrive at the old miners' houses in Brais. Continue straight ahead along the main street and turn right at the intersection (Rue du Puits). You will come to another path; turn left towards the north. Please note that this path can be muddy in wet weather. If it is impassable, veer slightly away from the path into the field on the left.
(4) At the end of the path, turn right. Shortly afterwards, turn right when the path splits in two. At the end of the path, take the road to the right (D297). At the three-way junction, take the road on the left. 200 metres further on, take the path on the left before entering the farm. Turn right when the path splits in two. You will come back onto Route de la Chênaie.
(5) Turn right at the end of this road (south). Continue along this road for 1.1 km and turn right at a place called La Prétaie. Follow the hiking signs and you will come to a path that runs alongside the barn. Go down this path and turn right towards the Pont de la Minette, an old stone bridge. Go back up the road to the calvary.
(6) Turn right towards the west, without going through Saint-Christophe-de-Valains. After 1 km on this road, take a path on the right before entering the hamlet of La Basse Haye. You will arrive at the beautiful hamlet of La Sourde. Follow the Minette on the road on the right. Then go back up the valley.
(7) Take the D297 road on the right at the fork. Take the second left to join the D20. Cross it to take the road on the left. Continue along this road until you reach a path on the left before the right-hand bend. Continue straight ahead, then take the path on the right to go slightly uphill. You will arrive at a larger path.
(8) Follow the path on the right, leaving the access to La Jacopinière on the left, then cross over the Couesnon to reach a place called Le Val. You will see geese and lots of dogs, two of which are free-roaming but harmless. Continue straight ahead and turn right onto a small path before the climb. After a steep climb, you will arrive at the hamlet of La Cultais.
(9) Turn left. Continue along the road until you reach the junction with the D97. Turn right onto this road. Please note that this road is narrow and busy. Continue along this road, cross a bridge and then head back up towards the village. Turn left towards La Hautraite and take the path on the right between the first two houses. Continue straight ahead until you reach the football pitch and car park (S/E).
