Departure from the Révotes car park.
(S/E) Take the Chemin de Quéret, go straight up to the reservoir. The climb is quite steep, a good way to warm up.
(1) Just after the reservoir on your left, take thesecond path on the right that goes off at a right angle. There are blue/yellow markings on a rock. Nice climb through the woods. Leave the paths that branch off to the left and continue straight ahead. Take the path that goes down in front of you, but be careful as there are no blue and yellow markings.
The trail has been altered due to bad weather (fallen trees): follow the path to the right of the original trail in the woods.
(2) Beautiful view of the Loire Gorges, very steep climb over a short distance.
(3) View of the Velay to the south-east and the Forez to the north-east (altitude 691 m), unobstructed view of the gorges and the towns of Saint-Just and Andrezieux to the north.
Take the path up a steep climb for a few metres, then rejoin the trail (blue and yellow markings). There are some beautiful views along the gently sloping path.
(4) At the tarmac road, turn right, cross the Place de Quéret and continue to the Chemin des Serves, which starts on the right.
Follow this path to the houses in the hamlet of Les Serves, leave the houses on your left and enter the undergrowth.
(5) Talweg, entrance to the Loire Gorges Reserve - Caution: protected and regulated area
(6) At the track, turn right until you reach the hairpin bend on the left (there is an underground cistern in the bend). At the barrier, take the path on the right that passes behind the house. Continue straight ahead, ignore the path on the right and keep the Loire on your left.
The path passes over the tunnel and along the side of the cliff (beware of falling rocks)
Continue the pleasant walk along the Loire, no difficulties.
(7) Begin a very steep climb for a short distance. Continue towards the Révotes water sports centre. Follow the path straight ahead, keeping the Loire on your left.
(8) Begin a steep climb for 100 to 150 metres. The path then follows the contour line until you reach the car park (S/E).
