The start is at Masser in Neubois. It can be reached via Rue des Pins, opposite the playground, and the car park is on Route de Sélestat. At the end of this street, turn left onto Rue des Chalets and continue along a dirt track that will take you to the car park 400 m away.

(S/E) Head south-west until you reach a fork.

(1) Take thesecond track on the right and at the three-way junction, take the path on the left. Cross a track and continue to Muttergot Bruennel.
(2) Follow the steep path heading west. Cross a track and continue on the path until the next one. Continue for a few metres, taking the middle path until the next fork.
(3) Look for the Black Madonna hanging on a tree. Head south-east, turning left (Chemin des Châteaux Forts d'Alsace). Ignore a track on the left and continue to the next junction.
(4) Take the hairpin bend to the right and you will arrive at the Col du Frankenbourg.

(5) Take the third track on the left (almost opposite), then quickly take the path on the right. Join a new track and follow it to the right until you reach the Stangenplatz car park.

(6) Continue on the second track on the left and join the Rondes Roches.
(7) Leave the track and follow the path on the right, continuing west for about 300 m until you reach the Roche des Fées.
(8) Continue along the downhill path, cross a track and continue along the path that branches off to the left. Continue along a new track, ignoring the side paths, and walk for about 50 metres until you reach a path on the left.
(9) Take this path and, at the crossroads, take the path in the centre towards La Salière.
(10) At the four-way junction, ignore the Place des Charpentiers on the right, heading north, and continue on the second road on the right, heading north-west. Cross a track (elevation 634) and you will come to a fork after passing an S-bend.

(11) Turn left, then continue right on a track to the Col de Fouchy.
(12) Follow the D481 to the left for 150 m and continue on the small paved road to the left until you reach Prérébois.
(13) Continue straight ahead on the forest track for 350 m and take a path that climbs to the left, then turn right onto the track and continue to the Col du Petit Haut.

(14) Immediately after the pass, take the path on the right and leave a small dilapidated refuge on your left. Continue straight ahead until you reach the fork at the top of the ridge.

(15) Take the path on the right that descends southwards to Chalmont.

(16) After enjoying the beautiful view of the rock, continue down the trail. Cross three tracks and arrive at a fork.
(17) Turn left, then continue down the track and onto a small road. At the hairpin bend to the right, take the track on the left and continue straight ahead to the end of Rue du Chalmont in Vancelles, where you will find a fountain.
(18) Turn left onto Rue des Chalets, cross the village and arrive at a cross street, Rue Himmelsleiter, just after No. 44.
(19) Continue straight ahead on the path and, at the fork at the top of the hill, descend for about 100 metres until you reach the next road (elevation 393).
(20) Turn left and continue straight ahead, along the side of the mountain. On your left, you will see a small chapel dedicated to the Black Madonna. Continue until you reach a three-way junction.

(21) Keep left and rejoin the route you took at the start.
