Description

The walk starts from the car park of Notcutts Garden Centre (PE2 5U), assuming you are going to use the Garden Centre later.

(S/E) Walk 50 m to Ham Lane, turn left to the roundabout on Oundle Road. Turn left again and walk on a footpath for approximately 1 km to Goldie Lane.

(1) Turn left into Goldie Lane, after about 1 km cross over the railway line to path junction.

(2) Turn left then after 100 m bear right and then follow the watercourse on your right for 1.5 km coming eventually to a footbridge.

(3) Turn right and go over the bridge. From here bear left at junction keeping initially Overton Lake and then Gunwade Lake on your left eventually passing a boat yard and a visitor centre and continue to Lynch Lake, a total of about 3.5 km.

(4) Bear right at the footpath crossing, keep straight with Lynch Lake and Overton Lake on your left, passing the café and the camping park eventually reaching a wooden carved pillar which is the start of Ham Lane.

(5) Take the footpath alongside the lane crossing the railway line at about 150 m and then walk a further 450 metres to the junction with Notcutts.

(6) After crossing Ham Lane, take the left turning back to Notcutts Garden Centre and finish. Enjoy a nice snack, meal at the restaurant (S/E).
