Park in the cemetery car park on Chemin de Mario Prassinos.
(S/E) Head towards the village. At the stop sign, turn right onto Rue des Écoles, pass the primary school and then, at the church, turn left onto Rue du Docteur Roque to go up to the old village. Ignore Rue Pareneuve and Rue Safranière and continue towards the top of the village. Then take the stairs on the right that lead to the clock tower and a ruined chapel: viewpoint over the village and the Alpilles.
(1) Head back down north towards the old church. Take Rue de la Vieille Église on the left, then go through the Porte de l'Auro on the right. View of the Mollégès and Plan d'Orgon plain and Mont Ventoux. At the fork immediately after, take Chemin du Vieux Moulin on the right, then Chemin des Patis to go straight down to the canal, a very quiet tarmac path. Cross the canal.
(2) Immediately turn left onto the right bank. Ignore the first bridge. At the second bridge, cross the canal and turn right onto the left bank. Before following the canal, you can visit the Calafiguière wash house (550 m round trip).
(3) Cross the Gaudre de Sounègues via the canal bridge. At the next bridge with two blue pipes, cross the canal again to return to the right bank.
(4) Starting point for the walk to the Grimaud ranch. Please note: from this point onwards, the path becomes very narrow and slopes down towards the canal in places. After the right-hand bend, ignore the footbridge to the Domaine d'Éole and continue along the right bank of the canal.
(5) Cross the Gaudre de Romani via the canal bridge and continue straight ahead.
(6) At thethird bridge, the path is no longer passable by vehicle. Cross the canal and take the path on the right to enter the olive grove and continue to the Chapelle de Romanin.
(7) Retrace your steps to find the path and do not try to cut across the olive grove, which is surrounded by an impassable hedge of pyracantha. Continue on your way towards the Alpilles, then turn right and follow the pyracantha hedge for about 100 metres. Take the first path on the left to follow the airfield track on your right and the hill on your left. From this point, do not slow down or stop before you reach the flying club premises so as not to disturb the glider pilots. For safety reasons, winch launches are suspended while there are walkers on this section of the path.
(8) After watching the gliders take off, fly and land, continue on your way. After 200 metres, continue straight on the GR®653D marked in white and red, which you will follow until you reach your destination.
(9) At the intersection, take the track on the right.
(10) Cross the Roman bridge or the ford and cross the car park to reach the D24. Cross the road carefully and continue on the marked GR®653D trail opposite. You will come to an intersection.
(11) Follow the path on the right. After about 20 metres, ignore the path on the right and continue straight ahead. Further on, ignore several successive turnings on the right and keep going in the same direction to reach the Route de Sounègue (D24b).
(12) Cross carefully to rejoin Chemin de Mario Prassinos, which leads directly to the cemetery and car park (S/E).
