This hike takes you on a long tour of the Bois de Hal (Hallerbos in Dutch) before leaving at km 11.5 to reach the countryside north-west of Braine-l'Alleud.
If you want to shorten the route and not stray too far from the woods, you can turn left at km 11.5 and easily reach the entrance to the woods (at km 1) via a wide path.
Be sure to stay on the paths and trails authorised for pedestrians and respect the prohibition signs (no picking, paths or trails reserved exclusively for bicycles or horses, etc.).
The Bois de Hal is renowned for the magnificent carpets of hyacinths that decorate the undergrowth in spring, usually from mid-April to early May.
The hyacinths are preceded by anemones and followed in some places by wild garlic.
With a little luck and, above all, a lot of patience, you may be able to spot a deer or two grazing or frolicking a little further away, in the undergrowth away from the paths.

Notes
The route is proposed here starting from the Dworp football field to avoid the hassle of accessing the official car parks located at the various entrances to the woods, which are usually very busy during the flowering season.
Some of the official car parks are (very) small and access to them is sometimes simply prohibited during the flowering season.
Example: P10 (km 11.5, municipality of Halle) near Drève de Colipain (municipality of Braine-l'Alleud). Parking is also prohibited along the entire length of Drève de Colipain from early April to mid-May. The same applies to the access road to the woods (Chemin du Bois de Hal).
