Car park in front of the ‘Maison médicale’, Avenue Robert Cousin.
(S/E) At the bottom of the car park, turn left onto the dirt track, markedGR®®22Band closed off by a wooden gate. Follow the track straight ahead and continue to the Village du Cheval.
(1) At the equestrian centre, turn right onto the path that runs alongside the building and then passes close to a flexible water tank. Continue for 1 km until you reach a stream (the Vée). Cross it via the wooden footbridge. Continue for about a hundred metres until you reach the junction between the D386 and the forest track.
Cross the D386 straight ahead and join the tarmac forest road open to traffic (take care). Follow this road for about 800 metres.
(2) Carry on to the hairpin bend, pass the old railway line and take the Voie Verte on the right.
Then carry on to the Source de Sainte Radegonde (signposted).
(3) Turn left and rejoin the main track which goes round the priory. Follow this track to the right until the next junction. Then turn right onto the lane leading to the Priory of Saint-Ortaire.
(4) Walk through the priory, then continue straight on along the wide path leading to Bagnoles-de-l’Orne. At the end of the path, turn left and head towards the OTSI (Tourist Office). Then turn right onto the main shopping street and continue straight on to the lakeside.
(5) At the “Potinière du lac”, cross the road towards the lake, then turn right and head towards the Post Office until you reach a stone staircase leading down to the lakeside garden. Then head towards the small wooden bridge at the far end of the lake. Cross over to the other side, then turn left and go round the Casino via a flight of steps to rejoin the main avenue.
(6) Turn right onto this avenue, walk past the Casino, then, after the petrol station, take the first street on the right, which leads back to the Medical Centre (S/E).
