The car park is situated between the two sports fields on the heights of Huttingen (municipality of Efringen-Kirchen). Park in the first car park on the right, which is paved.
(S/E) Follow the path that runs from the car park, with the football pitch and its clubhouse on your right, as well as the mobile phone mast. This path, clearly visible at the start, becomes grassy, but simply follow the Red Diamond with the bunch of grapes. At the end of the sports field, take the path to the right: the Wiiwegli marker is attached to a high post at the start of a covered orchard. Follow the grassy path to the end until you reach a junction with a signpost bearing numerous directional signs. Take the lovely wide and clearly visible path (yellow clay) on the left, which runs alongside a huge orchard.
(1) Turn right at the next fork, following the orchard. Ignore the first path on the left, then the second. Take the third path on the left at the end of a plantation (the marker is attached to a pylon), leaving the wide path for a dirt track. Immediately turn right onto a very grassy path: the Wiiwegli marker is attached to a large tree. Follow this grassy path to the end. Take another grassy path on the left, then another very grassy path on the right a little further on (follow the markings) through a cherry orchard. At the end of the path, turn left and you will immediately reach a crossroads.
(2) Continue straight on along a wide, terraced path between the vineyards. Keep following the Wiiwegli signposts whilst admiring the Rhine Valley and the Alsatian villages, particularly the nearby Kembs-Loechlé. You can see the power station and the locks on your left. Further on, you can make out the water tower and the church of Bartenheim. To the right, Kembs and, a little further to the right, the lock and the bridges at Niffer. Below the path lies the Kleinkems quarry, closed since 2001. You’ll reach a tarmac path.
(3) Cross it and take the concrete path that climbs to the left between the vineyards: follow the signposts.
(4) Take the track on the right to climb up to the Lettenhäuschen shelter. The climb is short (about 100 m) but very steep. At the top, there is a covered shelter and benches outside with a barbecue area. Continue to the left.
(5) Continue straight ahead to reach Kleinkemser Strasse, 200 m further on. Be careful, as there is some traffic on this small road linking Kleinkems and Blansingen.
(6) Leave the Wiiwegli, which branches off to the left, and follow Kleinkemser Strasse to the right. At the top of the hill, you can see the first house in Blansingen. Head to the junction with Römerstrasse at the entrance to the village.
(7) Take the road on the right: follow the yellow road sign towards Huttingen and continue straight on for nearly 2 km, between the vast orchards on either side of the road. Be careful to stay on the left-hand side of the road; there is some traffic on this narrow road.
(8) Turn onto the path on the right after a wayside shrine on a small mound (which is only visible if you turn round) and walk past the back of the football clubhouse to reach the car park (S/E).
