The walk starts from the Port-Miou car park, which is not very big, so you need to arrive as early as possible. Otherwise, there are more parking spaces on the peninsula, but the walk will be longer.
(S/E) Head towards the cove and the long path that will take you to the end of Port-Miou.
(1) At this point, the path that branches off to the left, running alongside and overlooking the entrance to Port-Miou, is more pleasant, but signs warn you of possible rockfalls, without actually prohibiting entry.
Sobe careful and look up from time to time.
Also watch out for stones, which have been polished by walkers' feet and are quite slippery even in dry weather.
If in doubt, follow the GR® marked path on the right.
(2) At this crossroads, turn right, heading west on theGR® 51 andGR® 98. The descent leads to Port-Pin. After crossing the small beach, take the marked "En-Vau" path slightly to the right, which will lead to a crossroads on the plateau after an 800 m climb.
(3) Take the difficult and tricky descent marked "Calanque d'en-Vau" opposite.
(4) At this point (elevation 27), head right up the trail towards La Gardiole.
(5) After about a kilometre, you will find a path on the left marked "Col de l'Oule". This is the start of the climb to the viewpoint.
(6) At this pass, take the path slightly to the left for 800 metres to the En Vau viewpoint.
(7) This is the reward for the day's effort, with magnificent views on both sides of En-Vau and its cliffs, and Calanque de l'Oule on the right.
Head back to the track in Vallon d'en Vau.
(5) Turn right, then descend the track you took on the way up for a few dozen metres.
(8) On the left, you will see an embankment blocking the path. Cross this embankment and walk up the track for 150 metres, heading generally east.
(9) Take a path on the right marked by a cairn. It climbs steeply, sometimes over scree and with passages where you will need to use your hands. The path turns left due east and joins a cistern (elevation 161).
(10) You will reach a track. Turn right towards the south and you will come to the crossroads on the plateau.
(3) Turn left onto theGR® trail in the opposite direction to the outward journey.
(2) For the return journey, take the markedGR® path on the left (leaving the path you took on the way there on the right).
The path runs alongside the old Cassis quarry and takes you back to the car park (S/E).
