Puits d'Enfer car park.
(S/E) Head towards Talmont Saint-Hilaire - Bourgenay.
Follow the footpath along the seafront; there is a cycle path running parallel to it until you reach La Parée. Follow Anse du Vieux Moulin (La Parée) along the edge of the road and go up it, following the houses.
(1) Find the path on the dune and continue to a promontory to admire the Baie des Sables d'Olonne and the Abbey of Saint-Jean d'Orbestier.
Head towards Bois Saint-Jean along the road and private properties.
(2) Then enter the woods (sign) to cross them and arrive back at the seafront. Follow the marked path overlooking the ocean.
(3) When you reach the blockhouses, admire the Anse de Cayola. Take the path that runs along the cliff and back into the woods, as it is impossible to follow the coastal path, which is closed off by private properties.
Return to the D32B road.
(4) Descend to the right towards Cayola Bay. You can descend onto the Cayola pebble dune and continue the hike towards Port Bourgenay (4 km).
(5) To return, leave the bay and take the Bois Saint-Jean forest path that runs alongside the D32B road.
(1) Return to the seafront to get back to the Puits d'Enfer car park (S/E).
