From Lescheraines, head towards the Col de Leschaux. At La Charniaz, park in the car park. Please note that spaces are limited and often occupied by canyoning enthusiasts. Another car park is located further up towards the junction with the Route de Bellecombe.
(S/E) Descend to the right towards the Pont du Diable (or to the left if the car park is on the Route de Bellecombe). Before the bridge, information boards explain how this canyon was formed. Cross the bridge and take the path that climbs towards Saint-Martin.
(1) In Saint-Martin, leave the GR® de Pays trail on your left, which will be the return trail. Climb 50 m and take the dead-end road on the left that climbs towards the relay antennas. Pass the antennas and continue on the road towards the hamlet of Rosset.
(2) Turn left onto the Route de la Motte, then 100 m further on, turn right onto the Route du Noiray.
(3) Leave the Route du Noiray and turn right onto the path that follows the Ruisseau de Saint-Martin.
(4) After the hamlet of Les Fresses, the path crosses the Ruisseau de Saint-Martin and leads to a crossroads.
(5) Keep right and follow the path that joins a forest road at a place called La Côte.
(6) Follow this forest road on the left until you reach a hairpin bend to the left.
(7) Continue straight ahead to reach the sawmills.
(8) After the sawmills and a visit to the mill, turn left onto the GR® de Pays trail, which leads to the village of Bellecombe-en-Bauges.
(9) Cross the village, staying on the GR® de Pays, cross the D61, pass the primary school and rejoin the departmental road. Cross, take the path opposite, which is a shortcut, rejoin the road and follow it to the Pont d'Étrier.
(10) Leave the road and continue to follow the GR® de Pays, which follows the Ruisseau de Bellecombe on the right and then climbs through the woods to Le Mollard.
(11) Turn left towards Saint-Martin to reach the junction with the path taken on the way from the Pont du Diable.
(1) Follow the same route you took on the way there to return to the car park (S/E).
