Departure from the car park of the La Paix hotel restaurant in Le Nouvion-en-Thiérache.
(S) With your back to the hotel, turn right and head for the crossroads in front of the town hall.
(1) Turn left onto the D26 towards Barzy and leave Le Nouvion-en-Thiérache.
(2) Just after passing under a high-voltage power line, turn left onto the D664 towards Barzy-en-Thiérache.
(3) When you reach Barzy, turn left onto Grand Rue towards the village centre.
(4) At the intersection by the church, continue straight ahead until the next fork.
(5) Then turn right towards Le Sart.
(6) At the fork, continue straight ahead and pass Pas de Vaches. Further on, you will reach the D116.
(7) At the "give way" sign, turn right onto Rue du Rejet du Moulin and arrive at Prisches.
(8) Follow the D964 to the left (Rue Raymond Wastiaux). Leave the village and follow the road to Le Favril (church on the right).
(9) Continue straight ahead towards Landrecies on the D964, which turns right and then left. Join Faubourg de France.
(10) At the stop sign, turn left carefully (dangerous crossing) towards the centre of Landrecies and continue straight on to the bridge over the Sambre.
(11) Just after the bridge, turn right and follow the Sambre on your right until you reach the Écluse des Étoquies lock.
(12) Cross the Sambre and take the towpath on the left. Follow the river.
(13) When you reach the Pont d'Hachette bridge, turn right and then take thefirst right, the D32a.
(14) At the "give way" sign, turn right to enter Maroilles via Rue des Juifs.
(15) Take thefirst right, Chemin Dame Marguerite.
(16) At the end of this winding road, turn left onto Rue du Lieutenant. You will find yourself back in the centre of Maroilles with the church car park on your left (E).
