Free parking at Free Parking 158, Boulevard Eugène Gazagnaire, Cannes.
(S/E) Southern end of the car park - Orientation table and oratory with its small cross, the origin of the Croisette.
Walk westwards along the beach. Pass behind Palm Beach.
Walk along the ports and beaches on your left, with Boulevard de la Croisette on your right.
(1) Leave the Croisette. Turn right, follow Rue Latour Maubourg and continue to the roundabout.
Turn right, crossing Boulevard Général Vautrin via the pedestrian crossing to reach Avenue Maréchal Juin, then turn right again.
(2) Turn left at the Avenue Maréchal Juin/Avenue Beauséjour junction.
Continue straight on Avenue Beauséjour until you reach the junction with Boulevard Montfleury.
(3) Turn right onto this boulevard and then immediately left onto Avenue Val Vert.
Follow this avenue for a few metres to discover the remains of the departure station of the neo-Provençal style funicular railway, which imitates a rural chapel.
(4) Turn around and continue left onto Boulevard du Mont Fleury. After 50 metres, take the shortcut via the stairs along the boulevard.
Follow the road for 100 metres. At the first hairpin bend to the right, leave the road and enter the wooded area on the left.
The old funicular railway line and a damp valley immediately come into view. Continue along the tracks. The slope is steep, like a hiking trail. Cross two bridges where there is a road below. Discover the environment of the 1930s. Continue uphill, passing under a bridge.
(5) Leave the tracks on the right atthe fourth concrete structure at the intersection of the bridge and the path. Turn left and pass under the bridge, heading north.
Continue along the old Siagne Canal path. At the junction with the tarmac road, turn right onto Boulevard Beausoleil.
(6) At the next fork in the road, turn completely left and continue along Boulevard Beausoleil. At the next fork in the road, keep right and continue along the same boulevard.
(7) At this intersection, turn right onto Boulevard de l'Observatoire.
(8) At the next crossroads, turn right onto Avenue de la Gare du Funiculaire. (There is no sign indicating the name of the avenue).
(9) When you reach the remains of the funicular railway station, enjoy the Super-Cannes Observatory Tower and the picnic area, then turn around.
(8) At the crossroads, turn right and continue downhill on Boulevard de l'Observatoire, then leave the boulevard for Avenue de l'Estérel.
(10) Turn left just before the funicular bridge. Follow the tracks again down a steep but non-slippery slope in dry weather.
(5) Leave the tracks after a few metres on the left at the intersection of the bridge and the Siagne canal path. Continue along this path, heading south.
(11) At the crossroads, continue straight ahead on Boulevard Supérieur Alexandre Lacour.
Stop to enjoy the view and water source.
Then follow Boulevard Saint-Michel, Boulevard Métropole and Avenue Albert Premier.
(12) Turn right and cross Avenue du Maréchal Juin with caution.
Follow this avenue to the roundabout.
(13) Turn left onto Boulevard Eugène Gazagnaire and head to the car park (S/E).
