Description of the walk

Start at the junction with the D647 (cross), about a hundred metres south of the hamlet of Mas de la Borie. Park at the entrance to a hard-surfaced track (take care not to obstruct traffic).

(S/E) Head west along the hard-packed track.

(1) After 500 m, continue straight ahead through the trees.

(2) At the top of the track, when you reach a road, take the path straight ahead through the woodland.

(3) Turn left near the hamlet of Le Claux Viel, where the path climbs slightly between low stone walls.

(4) Viewpoint over the Lot valley with Toirac opposite and, slightly to the left, the Château de Larroque-Toirac.
You are now at Mas de Renayac. Follow the track until you reach the road (about 1.2 km) at the hamlet of Rossignol and continue straight on.

(5) At the La Bouyssière crossroads, take the road on the left. Pass in front of a Rocamadour cheese shop.

(6) Take the path on the right which leads down into the woods.

(7) At this large crossroads, take the track on the left. At the next junction, turn left again towards the north-east.

(1) Turn right onto the path you took on the way there to return to the starting point (S/E).

A pleasant route, but best avoided in wet weather as the start of the route is very muddy. Beautiful views over the River Lot.

A mistake in following the route led us to Balaquier-sur-Lot and its charming picnic spot.
Park at (1) as the crossroads (S/E) is too busy with large agricultural vehicles.
A lovely route in the sunshine, enjoying the tranquillity of the old paths and lanes running between the walls enclosing the meadows.
We came across thousands of tiny green caterpillars hanging from a thread at head height as we passed by.
Absolute tranquillity between 1 and 8 May

A very pleasant walk to enjoy with the family – or anyone else – on this stretch of the Aveyron plateau. Lovely views of the Lot and the plateau on the Lot side, across the river.
The walk is shorter than advertised; a good hour and a half was enough to get back to the starting point.

A pleasant, easy walk across the Causse, with stunning views of the valley and plenty of shaded areas. This walk can be combined with another route and a visit to the caves (currently closed)
