The start is under the trees in the car park by Grauves Town Hall.
(S/E) With your back to the town hall, turn left onto Rue d’Épernay, then right onto Rue du Château. At the next junction, turn left onto Rue du Buat and keep right at the fork. The path climbs through vineyards and leads to the edge of the woods. Turn left along the edge of the woods until you reach a path entrance on the right.
(1) Take the path that climbs into the woods.
(2) At the five-way junction, turn left and walk to the clearing overlooking the cliff. Do not pick the flowers, as they are protected. Return to the crossroads of five paths and take the second path from the left (almost opposite). This is theGRP® de la Côte des Blancs. Follow this path to the vineyards and continue in the same direction to the wayside shrine (Belvédère de Cramant).
(3) Turn right at a right angle onto the Allée de la Forêt. Walk to the woods and continue straight ahead to a T-junction.
(4) Turn left, then follow the path which bends to the right (elevation 219). Then walk straight on until you reach the road.
(5) Near Parc Vix (opposite), you can stop for a break or carry on. Turn right onto the road and walk 150 m along the verge, taking care. Look out for a path entrance on the left.
(6) Take this path into the woods and turn right immediately. Do not follow theGRP® signposts. Continue along this path without changing direction. Pass by the private pond and walk to the road.
(7) Cross the road and continue straight ahead. Take the path that branches off to the left and enters the woods. This path runs alongside a stream (ditch). Follow it to the end. In places, it is overgrown with brambles, but you can get through via the wooded areas.
(8) At the end of the patch of sparse trees, the path veers right into the undergrowth. Do not follow the patch of trees; the path leads away from it. You will reach a clearing and a wide path.
(9) Turn right and follow the path for 200 metres.
(10) Turn right again. In wet weather, this section has ruts filled with water and mud. Continue straight on until you reach the fields.
(11) Once you reach the fields, continue straight on along the stony path. Pass in front of the Rouge Maison farm. You’ll reach a T-junction.
(12) Turn left, go 100 metres and turn right, following the trees. Go another 100 metres to find a path on the right.
(13) Take this path and continue in the same direction until you reach the vineyards. Follow them to the crossroads.
(14) Continue straight on towards the village of Grauves. Pass the wayside shrine and continue straight on until you reach Rue d’Épernay. At the junction, turn right and walk to the town hall (S/E).
