Parking is available along the D22, not far from the starting point.
(S/E) Head north-east uphill and follow the path that runs alongside the Pontous stream. When you pass a sign saying "Attention Abeilles" (Beware of bees), turn right and follow the path overlooking the Tarn on your right.
(1) Enjoy the view of the Tarn and continue to the end of the path where you will see a house on your right. Continue along the road and turn left at the crossroads towards a place called La Colombe. Pass the houses and you will come to a fork.
(2) Turn right, i.e. to the right of a tree, and begin the descent into the forest.
(3) When you reach a sign, turn right and follow the Pontous stream, crossing small wooden bridges (this path is not shown on the IGN map). Continue to the steps leading to the D29.
(4) From this point onwards, the route follows the road! Turn left and, after about 700 metres, make a short detour to the left to the Roque Blanche viewpoint and continue to a Y-junction.
(5) Turn left towards the village of Varennes, then left again at the next intersection.
(6) About 200 metres before the church, turn left into the no-entry lane. Follow the small road straight ahead and descend to the D22. Turn left to return to your vehicle (S/E).
