The starting point is at the car park near the Vidourle (D62C). This is a small car park (6 to 8 spaces). If it is full, you can park at the old hospital by continuing to the D 255 roundabout and starting the walk from there.
(S/E) Head north, following the yellow marked trail.
(1) Turn right to walk along the Vidourle.
(2) Follow the dyke. Do not enter the enclosed areas to walk along the pond. The site has been under a lot of pressure and the natural habitats along the pond have been severely degraded.
The area along the pond is off-limits to unauthorised persons by municipal decree. You will arrive at an observation platform with information panels describing the birds present on the site.
(3) Continue opposite into the woods until you reach the Vidourle again.
(4) Turn left to follow the other arm of the Vidourle, then cross the D255 at the pedestrian crossing and continue straight ahead.
(5) Walk along the beach.
(6) Turn left and cross the area of the old hospital.
The old hospital buildings were demolished in order to restore the natural habitats.
Here you can discover typical coastal environments such as dunes and salt marshes, which are currently being restored.
Please note that this is an approximate location as the IGN map and orthophoto are not up to date. Access is via the beach using a footpath through the dunes (wooden decking).
Take the Route de Carnon (D62C).
(7) Please note: take care when crossing the road. Continue straight ahead to reach the sea wall.
(3) Turn right and take the same route back. After the pumping station, turn right onto the first path.
(1) Continue straight ahead to reach the car park (S/E).
