Coming from Bruniquel on the D964, park in the car park on the right at the entrance to Saint-Martin.
(S/E) With your back to the rest area, take the small road on the left for 400 metres. At the crossroads, turn right and follow the tarmac road for 100 metres.
(1) Turn left onto a track (grass and stones). After 300 metres, this track becomes a small path which you follow until you reach a crossroads.
(2) Take the path on the left and continue straight ahead until you reach theGR®46(white and red markings).
(3) At this crossroads, turn right onto theGR®46, which leads to the village of Mespel.
(4) Once you reach the small tarmac road in the village, turn left towards the Chapel of Notre-Dame des Bois. It's worth stopping here to admire the chapel, read about its history and enjoy the view. Go behind the chapel and follow the small path that leads to a wide track.
(5) Turn right and follow this track for 500 metres. You will come to a crossroads.
(6) At this crossroads, take the first track on the left. Follow this track straight ahead for 4.3 km, ignoring the paths or tracks on the right and left. You will arrive at Pas del Riou.
(7) Once on this small platform, take the first track on the left after passing the barrier. You will descend, and very quickly this track becomes a wide path of grass and stones. Continue descending until you come to a track leading off to the left, which you ignore.
(8) Continue straight ahead with the Beudes stream on your right. Join theGR®46.
(9) Continue straight ahead and follow theGR®46for approximately 1.3km.
(10) After a short steep descent, cross the small stream on your left and immediately turn right. Follow this small stream for 200 metres.
(11) Cross the Beudes stream following a yellow-marked, very shaded path. Follow this path to the starting point of this hike (S/E).
