Departure from the car park at the town hall in Le Bono.
(S/E) Head towards the old bridge and cross it.
(1) At the end of the bridge, turn right along the Bono river.
(2) The path along the water's edge goes around the Govillo bend and climbs up to Sainte-Avoye.
(3) Turn left and follow theGR® and the path. Cross the village, with its beautiful 16th-century chapel and a lovely fountain behind it.
Then head towards Lann Er Villin (Le Bono-Auray).
(4) Follow theGR® on the left until you reach the road (be careful when crossing) and turn slightly right opposite.
(5) Turn right onto the GR®. Cross the first paved road, then at the second, turn right to leave the Lycée Kerplouz property.
(6) Go under the four-lane RD 101 bridge and immediately turn left. Take the path that follows theGR® and arrives at the heights of St Goustan near the cemetery, then descend to the port.
(7) When you reach the Auray river, turn right and head back up to the Port de Saint-Goustan (port of Auray). Very lively in the summer, with beautiful old houses and a few shops.
The return journey follows the River Auray, retracing your steps. Follow the riverbank, but be careful at high tide as the path is closed due to flooding.
You will arrive at the Bono bridge.
(1) Cross back over and head back up to the town hall car park (S/E).
Moderator's message: route modified on 21/06/2023 from 5 to follow theGR® and avoid the Kerplouz high school, which is private property (fence in place).
