From La Biroire to Gautrelle Beach

Departure from Place des Petites Mains, Rue de la Butte, in La Biroire.

(S/E) With your back to the car park, turn right, then left and right and follow Rue de la Légère. Continue along Rue de l'Épicerie, then turn right onto Rue de la Place and arrive at Place des Tilleuls.

(1) Continue straight ahead on Route de la Giboire and follow it to the edge of the forest.

(2) Leave the tarmac and turn right onto the track. At the road, go a few metres to the left and you will reach the start of the cycle path on the right.

(3) Take it and follow it to the first houses of Saint-Pierre-d'Oléron, at the end of Route de la Grossetière.

(4) Turn right and then left, crossing the departmental road, and continue on the cycle path that continues to the right of^{No. 72Bis}.

(5) At the village exit, turn right and continue to the next cycle path junction.

(6) Keep left and continue to Rue du Moulin at the entrance to Sauzelle.

(7) Turn right onto this road, then left onto Rue de la Chapelle and quickly right onto the one-way street. Continue straight ahead until you reach the D126.

(8) Continue left on this road and turn right at No. 23 Rue des Loges.

(9) Turn right onto Route de la Gautrelle, then take the cycle path on the right and follow it to Plage de la Gautrelle.

(10) After enjoying the beach, return to Place des Petites Mains, Rue de la Butte, at La Biroire, following the same route you took on the way there (S/E).

Remember to bring water and sunscreen (and your swimsuit).

The route includes a few sections on roads with little traffic. However, the majority of the route is on cycle paths or dirt tracks.
