Cycling through the vineyards

Starting from the Maison des Vins et du Tourisme, this easy route is suitable for families. Discover the vineyard landscapes of the Fronton AOP along the roads of Fronton. The Place des Amis de la Négrette is an ideal spot for a picnic near the vineyards.

Description of the route

Start from the Maison des Vins et du Tourisme, Allée du Château.

Signposting for circular loop no. 10 – Blue

(S/E) Take Allée du Château and head towards the roundabout. Turn left onto the D29, towards Villaudric (Avenue de Villaudric). Pass the secondary school and, at the corner, reach a junction.

(1) Turn left onto Chemin de Pierres, then immediately left again onto Chemin de Capdeville. Continue straight on until you reach the four-way junction.

(2) Turn right onto Chemin du Moulin, and at the junction, turn left. At the next junction, turn right onto Chemin de Standinats, and follow it to the end.

(3) First turn left then right, and continue along Chemin d’Orgueil for about 2.8 km, until you reach the junction after crossing a bridge.

(4) Turn left onto Chemin de Boujac. Stay on this path and pass through the hamlet of Boujac. At the junction, keep left and continue to the crossroads at No. 860.

(5) Turn right onto Chemin de la Bouysselle. Cross the D4 with care, then head straight on along Chemin Neuf, and you will soon reach a junction.

(6) Turn right and head for Place des Amis de la Négrette (recognisable by its grape press).

(7) Continue left onto Chemin de Codeval and, at the three-way junction ahead, keep left. Then turn left onto Route de Campsas and head for No. 2650 (Château de Terre Fauve).

(8) Turn right onto Chemin de Bel-Air, then turn left at the next junction onto Chemin de Tarda. At the end, continue left onto theD47B (Route de Fabas), enter Fronton, and reach no. 685.

(9) Turn left onto Chemin de Marmondan. Continue along this road until the junction, after passing the cemetery.

(10) Turn right onto the D4 (Route de Montauban). At the roundabout, continue straight ahead, then take the first street on the left, Rue de Martrat.

(11) At the crossroads, head up to the right (Rue des Bourdisquettes) and, at the top, turn left onto Esplanade Pierre Campech, then continue straight on into Rue des Jardins. At the end, turn right, then left onto the D29. At the roundabout, take the3rd exit , Allée du Château, and you will arrive at the Maison des Vins et du Tourisme (S/E).

Notes

Follow the signs for Circular Loop No. 10 – Blue.

The wine and tourism centre has a car park and shaded picnic tables. Inside, the Tourist Office can advise you on the route and the wine centre sells around 150 Fronton AOP wines.

Please note that some roads can be very busy (D4).

(7) The Place des Amis de la Négrette has a picnic table.

Worth a visit

Continue straight ahead instead of following the sign for ‘4 ’ to join the V85 greenway at Orgueil (3 km).

Places of interest: a remarkable dovecote, a walk through the vineyards, the Maison des Vins et du Tourisme.
