Park your car along Rue de la Moselle or in the small square at the end of the street.
(S/E) Head due north at the junction of Rue de la Moselle and Rue du Voyeux, taking the tarmac path leading towards the Moselle.
(1) Go round the back of the campsite, then turn right immediately afterwards and then left to pass in front of the sewage treatment works.
(2) After the treatment works, turn left and, 500 metres further on, left again, heading towards the trail retracing the Battle of Corny.
Continue along the path that runs alongside the river without leaving it.
(3) Walk past the Roman aqueduct at Jouy-aux-Arches and continue along the Moselle, then the Jouy Canal, staying on the right bank.
(4) You can’t go wrong up to this point. Walk alongside the road for a short while, then turn left immediately, cross the bridge and turn right.
(5) From there, follow the small tarmac road that runs behind the waterways authority offices. Cross the small bridge, then turn left and left again to reach the bridge at the leisure centre, from where you’ll have a view of the marina and the lake.
(6) After the bridge, turn left and follow the path along the edge of the Moselle’s backwater. After 400 metres, pass under the road and you’ll find yourself back in built-up areas for a short while.
After passing the Saint-Symphorien stadium on your right, carry on to the next bridge.
(7) Cross the bridge and turn right at the top of the road. Continue your walk, still following the river. Here, the paths can sometimes be a bit muddy after rain.
(8) After the motorway, take either the upper or lower path; both will join up further on.
(9) Pass under the railway bridge, then, 800 metres further on, leave the bridge on your left and carry on straight ahead.
(10) At the next bridge, turn left, cross it and then turn right straight away; you’ll rejoin the path you took on the way there.
(11) Please note: after this point, turn left, as going straight on takes you onto a private road.
Carry on to the car park (S/E).
