Park in the car park located about 200 metres to the right after the bridge over the Bléone.
(S/E) Take the marked trail that starts at the bottom of the car park. The north-facing trail
climbs quite steeply but steadily until it crosses a track.
(1) Continue on the path opposite and you will soon reach the ruins of Chauvet, from where
the trail turns west.
(2) Turn left. The slope becomes much gentler and there are beautiful views of the Bléone valley. You will rejoin the track just before you reach Andy Goldsworthy's art refuge.
(3) After spending some time visiting, take the trail towards the Col de l'Escuichière
, which overlooks the Bès valley (1,242 m).
(4) From the pass, head south-west and climb straight up the slope towards the summit (1326m).
(5) After enjoying the exceptional view, continue southwest along the ridge. There are no more markings and the path is overgrown with broom, but it is not particularly difficult. This will take you to the Baisse du Frêne (1238m).
(6) Head south-east on an old track that descends quite steeply, continuing straight ahead at the few junctions you come to. You will rejoin the track near Villard.
(7) Turn right and follow the track as it winds downhill, arriving at the bottom of the valley on the Route du Guéni, near a ruin.
(8) There are only a few hundred metres left to go on the left before you reach the car park (S/E).
