Departure from the small car park marked "Viapac" (2 spaces) on the D900A.
Yellow markings
(S/E) From the car park, descend and then cross the Bès river via a picturesque Nepalese bridge. The climb is then very steep through the undergrowth for about 20 minutes until you can see the famous Lame de Facibelle through the trees.
(1) At the Le Martelet signpost, turn right and follow the signs for Pudoyer. Ignore a turn-off to the right and continue uphill through the trees.
The time indicated is for good walkers. It took us nearly two hours to climb, stopping often to take photos and drink because it was hot despite the shade of the trees.
(2) Once at the summit, cross a forest of densely planted pine trees. From there, the walk descends in a circular fashion to Lame Facibelle on the north side.
(3) At the Pudoyer fork, follow the signs to Tanneron on the left. Cross diagonally across a private road and continue straight ahead. You will soon reach the Tanneron crossroads.
(4) Turn left and climb up to Rocher de Gassendi.
(5) Continue straight ahead on a path along the mountainside. Enjoy the impressive views of the mountains cut into geological strata, the reddish rocks and the bare, green mountains. Pass a slightly stony and slippery section as it is very steep for a few dozen metres.
After crossing the Ravin de l'Ubac, you will reach the Lame de Facibelle on the other side of the shoulder.
(1) Descend via the same route you took on the way up and rejoin the Bès then the D900a (S/E).
