Triebelskopf circuit from Niederbruck

A pleasant circuit between the mid-mountains and the forest, with stubble fields, rivers and farm inns. Accessible to all, the only slight difficulty being the climb above the Entzenbach farm inn. But what a treat when you reach the hill and the Triebelskopf pasture!

Description of the walk

From Masevaux, take the D466. At the roundabout after Sickert, turn left towards Niederbruck centre. You will immediately see the car park before the bridge over the Doller, right next to a large wooden shelter with tables and benches.

Yellow Ring Markings

(S/E) Cross the bridge over the Doller and immediately turn right onto Rue du Château, towards the Entzenbach farmhouse inn, with triple markings, including the Yellow Ring. On the right-hand side, you will see the primary school and the town hall, and on the left, the massive and beautiful Saint-Wendelin Chapel, which looks more like a church. Thistarmac road climbs up the valley and you will soon leave it behind.

(1) Turn right onto Chemin de l'Entzenbach. The street becomes a gravel road. Further on, in the area known as Untzenboden, you will see an old Saviem forestry tractor and snow plough. The climb continues.

(2) Before reaching the Entzenbach farmhouse inn, leave the road and take a path that climbs steeply to the right towards Lachtelweiher (marked with a red disc and yellow ring). Follow the grassy track, which quickly turns left and joins a path to the left. You will then be overlooking the Entzenbach farmhouse inn. Continue to the crossroads at Villa Puce.

(3) Follow the markings on the left (path not shown on the IGN map) which lead to the summit of Tribelskopf: pretty pastures and two magnificent lime trees.

(4) Follow the wide, slightly uphill stone path on the right, keeping to the same markings. Soon you will enjoy a beautiful view of the plain. Arriveat the Bruckenwald farmhouse inn, where the GR® 531 passes with its Blue Rectangle.

(5) Just before reaching the farm, take the path that descends to the left, marked with both a yellow ring and a yellow triangle, towards Niederbruck. Follow the numerous zigzags. Cross the Bruckenwald via a wooden footbridge. The descent quickens and leads to a grassy plateau where a carriage road also arrives. Continue to the right on the grassy area and look for the path that leads back into the forest. You will come out onto a path (elevation 540) at a small Oratory of Saint Thérèse of Lisieux.

(6) Continue along the wide stone path which descends rapidly. Continue straight ahead to reach a ford (iron footbridge) and the first houses of Niederbruck.Continue straight ahead after the Les Myosotis nursery school and you will come to the bridge over the Doller and the car park on the left (S/E).
