Starting point: Jardin des Lakas car park.
Yellow PR® markings
(S/E) With your back to the car park entrance on Rue Joseph Rousse, go to the back of the car park, turn right and walk along the Jardin des Lakas on your left. Turn right, pass a small tower and turn left to reach a roundabout near the École Notre-Dame school.
Leave the school on your left and turn right onto Chemin de la Piraudière (VTC2 route). Walk past the "Accueil de la Côte de Jade" retirement home on your right.
Continue along this path, which is marked as no entry except for residents. Continue along this path (VTCE la Prée sign) and follow the white path opposite, then turn right onto a path with a grassy strip in the middle.
(1) When you reach a road opposite the old Moulin de la Guerche mill, turn left onto Route de Renaudière and walk past the campsite on your right.
(2) At the stop sign, take the Chemin des Masses opposite and continue along this path with a grassy strip in the middle. Ignore the first path on the right and then turn left. Between the fields, the path becomes gravel and leads to a road opposite a campsite.
(3) Cross it and continue straight ahead towards the campsites. Pass between two campsites and continue along the small tarmac road, which quickly becomes a dusty track. Stay on this wide path which runs alongside private land occupied by caravans and mobile homes.
Off the marked trail
Leave the Pré route (sign) on your right and continue straight ahead until you reach the next three-way junction, where you turn left.
(4) Follow this wide pine-lined avenue that borders well-barricaded properties and private land. All the paths leading off to the right and left are marked with "private" signs.
At the next three-way junction before a road, turn right to reach the sea at Port aux Ânes (picnic tables on the right).
Markings: GR®8 White and Red + PR® Yellow
(5) Turn right onto the coastal path (signposted Côte Sauvage de la Prée) and follow this wide path (you can walk along the shore at low tide). Shortly before La Prée, cross a small footbridge between the reeds and you will reach a car park.
(6) Continue along the wide, flat coastal path heading north-east. It follows the rocky reef, home to birds (seagulls and turnstones).
Reach the marsh where an orientation table allows you to situate yourself facing the open sea. Continue in the same direction and see an anchor along the way, symbolising sailors lost at sea.
(7) Reach La Tara, where you will find an analemmatic sundial. Arrive at Port de Gravette (fishing port, oyster farming, mussel farming and yachting), sheltered by a long stone breakwater. Pass the Euler buoy on the lawn and continue along the sandy path that runs alongside the sea. At Plage du Mouton, leave the coast and the GR®8.

(8) At the signpost, cross the boulevard at the pedestrian crossing opposite the house marked 'Maison Andrée' and take Chemin des Masseries. Continue straight ahead and cross a road. Further on, this tree-lined path turns left and becomes Chemin de Mitière, leading to a road.
(9) Opposite the "no entry" sign, turn right and then immediately left into Rue des Mésanges, which continues as Chemin des Mésanges.
Continue along this path, which turns right and becomes Chemin du Ruau at a crossroads. You will reach the D96 at Croix Saint-Étienne, visible on the right-hand side of the road.
(10) Cross it and continue straight ahead on Route de la Frenelle, then opposite a house, turn right to follow Chemin de la Frenelle.
(11) At the junction with Rue des Ajoncs, turn right and continue along this road, which passes in front of the René Cerclé School Complex.
Off the marked route
(12) When you reach a roundabout, turn left in front of the Tourist Office, go under a porch, go around the church on the right and pass in front of the Grotte de la Vierge (explanatory sign).
Leave the church square on the right and turn left onto Rue Pasteur opposite a bar-tobacconist.
