Start from the Préfailles beach car park.
(S/E) With your back to the sea, walk 300 m and turn right onto Grande Rue (admire the façade of the bazaar).
(1) Continue along Rue de la Mairie on the left and, at the roundabout, continue straight ahead along Rue de la Renaudière. At the three-way junction, keep right and continue straight ahead along the beautiful path that leads to the Plaine-sur-Mer roundabout.
(2) There, keep left, cross the Route de la Pointe Saint-Gildas and take the wide path heading north to a campsite.
(3) Cross the crossroads and take Chemin de la Guerche until you reach a road, follow it to the left and 300 m further on, turn right onto Rue de la Guichardière until you reach Chemin de la Bretonnière.
(4) Follow this shaded path for 300 m, keep left at the three-way junction and go straight ahead at the next crossroads, cross a road, continue to the houses and take the path opposite that leads to the sea.
(From here, you can see the Port de la Gravette and, on a clear day, the Saint-Nazaire bridge).
(5) Continue left on theGR®8trail along the sea.
(6) At La Tara, a short break is welcome: with a view of the sea and Pointe Saint-Gildas, you have already covered about 8 km and the path follows the ocean.
(7) Pass La Prée and continue through Port aux Ânes. At a place called L'Épinette, keep right and continue towards the port of Pointe de Saint-Gildas.
(8) Continue along the coastal path that goes around this point, where there is a semaphore, and follow the Hutte cliff path to reach the car park (S/E).
