Park in front of the church.
(S/E) With your back to the church door, climb to the right and join the D38 (GR® 651, white and red markings). Follow it straight ahead until you reach the end of a large left-hand bend.
(1) Leave the road and take the path that climbs to the right. Walk to the fortified gate, go past the Château des Anglais (12th century) and climb back up towards the Causse. Go through a gate (remember to close it behind you) and you will arrive at the hamlet.
(2) At thefirst house, leave the GR®°° and descend to the right to reach the fountains. Then continue on the right along the path that passes through the rocks and moorland.
(3) Leave the path leading to Gabat on your left and turn right. When you reach the pylon, walk along the cliff on the left and take the path downhill. At theGR® junction, turn right and you will arrive at the hamlet of Pailhès. Turn right again to join the Cahors-Figeac departmental road (D41).
(4) Turn right and follow this road carefully, then cross the bridge over the Célé to reach the village of Espagnac.
(5) Continue on the right along the road, pass Le Mas and turn left then right to rejoin the road from Espagnac. Follow this road to the right.
(6) Before reaching Cournayral, take the small path on the right (not shown on the map). At thefirst fork, turn right. The path descends and then immediately climbs back up through the woods. It arrives on the plateau and runs along the cliff.
When you reach a cross path, take it on the right and continue to the tip of the rocky outcrop (very beautiful view of the Célé valley). Descend a small rocky escarpment to reach the path that leads to the valley.
(7) At Lapoujade, continue straight ahead to the hamlet of Merlet along the tarmac road.
(8) In the hamlet, head towards the Célé and, once you reach the river, continue on the left, following it. Join the road and follow it to the right.
(9) At the intersection, cross the bridge over the D38 which spans the Célé and return to the starting point (S/E).
