Description of the walk

Pennautier municipal car park.

Route signposted in blue

(S/E) Cross the bridge and enter the village. Follow the circular road to the right up to the town hall. Turn right onto Rue Jean Moulin. At the end, turn left towards the cemetery and head due north along Avenue Luis Ocana.

(1) When you reach the stadium, turn left onto Rue Claude Debussy and continue straight on for 2.4 km after crossing a small bridge over the Ruisseau du Thou.

(2) When you reach the Bade du Goy, turn left onto the small path that descends into the pine forest and runs alongside a vineyard. Turn left when facing the Ruisseau de Thou, then right to reach the Liet crossroads at the Rougepeyre bastide. Note the quality of the work carried out by previous generations on the stone bridges.
Once you reach the crossroads, you can take a short detour to the right to the Rougepeyre bastide to admire its architecture and grounds. It is also a wine-growing estate.

(3) Turn left, heading due south towards Liet and its château. Continue southwards until you reach an old shed, situated just before the D203.

(4) Turn left onto this signposted path through the vineyards, which joins a cross-country track.

(5) Turn right onto this track, still skirting the vineyards, and you’ll reach the first streets of the village.

(6) At the junction with Rue Jean Jaurès, carry straight on along Boulevard de la Poste, turn right into Rue Victor Hugo and almost immediately left into Rue Mistral, which leads to the church.

(7) You’ll come out onto Boulevard Joliot-Curie; follow it to the left. Turn right to cross the bridge again and arrive at the Pennautier municipal car park (S/E).

A really enjoyable and easy walk as there’s very little elevation gain. Well signposted with small blue signs

A very, very well-signposted route. You just follow the blue arrows attached to posts. Our dog was off the lead almost the whole time (except at the start and finish in the village). This route is suitable for children; it’s easy. It’s easy to stop for a picnic. The scenery is varied.
Thank you very much for the excellent signposting.
