The ‘Two Bell Towers’ route from Lantic

Head to the Lantic Town Hall car park, located at the junction of the D4, D51 and D121 departmental roads. The hiking information point is on the gable end of the town hall. Follow the ‘Yellow Butterfly’ signposting with directional arrows.

(S/E) Head towards the D4, passing in front of the main entrance to the Notre-Dame-de-la-Cour Chapel, to reach the pedestrian crossing on the left. Cross over to Rue Saint-Laurent,
opposite.

(1) At the junction, head straight on down the tree-lined path. At the second junction, take the path on the right and follow it to a road.

(3) Cross it to reach the other side, then take the first farm track on the left, followed by a second one a little further on which heads to the right. At the end of this track, turn left.

(3) As the descent begins, head into the woods on the right to discover the Pontanio dolmen. At the end of the path, carry on straight ahead to the leat at the bottom of the valley.

(4) Follow the River Ic as far as the Gernégan Mill.

(5) When you reach the mill, take the path opposite, which goes behind the houses and runs alongside the lion enclosure at Trégomeur Zoo, then leave the riverbank.

(6) Head up a stony, damp path on the left, which leads to Rue de Bourgogne.

(7) Cross the road to the opposite side, taking a path that passes in front of a house, to the right of the bus stop, then continue straight ahead along the road, then turn left at the second junction to reach Avenue des Terres Neuvas (D4).

(8) Cross it carefully, going round the state school. Turn right after passing the school gates, and walk alongside the sports ground to the end of the pedestrian and cycle path that runs alongside Rue de la Nouette.

(9) Cross at the junction with Rue des Bellevues, then take Chemin de la Croix Cotard opposite and follow the path that runs behind the houses to the Saint-Oswald Fountain

(10) Continue straight on to Saint-Oswald’s Church.

(11) Walk past the church on the right, then take Rue du Carpont on the right (a one-way street), then take the first Ville Hello service track on the left, between two houses, until you reach the D4 county road and the ponds information point

(12) Do not cross the D4. Take the first path branching off to the far left, then a second one,
a few hundred metres further on, still to the left, which leads onto a road; continue left-hand way along this road again until you reach the stop sign. At the junction, cross the Route du Pont Sillard to take the path opposite, which winds through the valley. After about 300 m, follow the path on the left, heading uphill to Rue du Presbytère, at a place called La Ville aux Marais.

(13) Walk down this street to the left, then take the first alley on the right, which runs alongside the church on the other side and leads to the car park of the cemetery you passed earlier.

(11) Return to the Saint-Oswald Fountain, under the trees opposite.

(10) Continue to the right along the path known as the Chemin des Trois Fontaines. Walk past the Fontaine des Prés.

(14) Reach the Sainte-Radegonde Fountain a little further up, just before the edge of the woods, by turning left off the route for a short round trip to the clearing where it is hidden, 150 metres away.

(15) Return to the original route to reach the Avenue des Ajoncs d’Or (D121).

(16) Cross the departmental road with care and take the cycle path to the right, until you reach the next path on the left, at a place called La Mare Merpault. At the end of this path, continue along the road to the left, heading straight on to Place Notre-Dame-de-la-Cour (S/E).
