Park in the car park at the Maison des Chasseurs au Chêne Verdier. Follow the markings with the image of a wolf.
(S/E) Take the road downhill for a few metres, then take the gently sloping path on the left. Walk alongside the water collection station for the Creusot island and then join the Ruisseau de la Papeterie.
(1) Continue climbing among the rocks. At the end of the climb, take the path on the right through the woods. You will come to a small wooden bridge.
(2) Continue along the path through the woods until you reach a crossroads.
(3) Here you have two options:
- the short route, for which you turn left to return directly to the starting point,
- the marked and described route, turn right.
Continue through the woods, following the wall of the Château de Montjeu park. After a beautiful descent, you will arrive at the road at Vernes de Lyre.
(4) Take the path on the right, following the markings. Further down, you will reach the ruins of the Cave aux Renards.
(5) Continue along the path, following the markings, and you will pass some old ruined farms. Turn 180° north to return to the Maison des Chasseurs car park (S/E).
