Route de Saulny Bas in Saulny

Departure: Saulny multi-purpose hall car park, Rue de Metz.
At the start, an information board will tell you about the hiking routes offered by the municipality of Saulny.

(S/E) From the car park, head straight up towards the village centre, crossing the roundabout. Stay on the left-hand pavement, then after 250 m turn left into Passage de la Chadotte. Continue straight ahead, cross the Ruisseau de Saulny stream via a wooden bridge and you will come out onto Rue des Primevères. Continue straight ahead to reach Rue de Vigneulles.

(1) Turn right and continue straight ahead along this street, staying on the pavement on the right-hand side, and continue along Rue de Mallemat. The tarmac gives way to a gravel path with a housing estate on the left and a fenced-off leisure park on the right. Cross Moulin de la Manotte after walking along Ruisseau de Saulny and you will come out onto Rue du Moulin, just opposite Rue de la Petite Noue.

(2) Turn left, leaving Rue des Courtes Rayes on your right, and continue straight ahead until you reach a gravel path, Chemin des Douars

(3). After 600 metres, turn right onto Sentier des Gloriottes, cross Ruisseau de Saulny via a small stone bridge and continue straight ahead on a slightly uphill path. At the top, turn right onto a gravel path, Chemin du Bois de la Chapelle (there is an apiary and a chalet on the left). Continue straight ahead (calvary on the right) to reach the first houses in Saulny, Rue du Château.

(4) Take the first street on the right, slightly downhill, Rue des Courtes Rayes, and continue to number 7 on the street.

(5) Turn left onto Sentier de la Petite Noue, a narrow path that leads to Rue de la Petite Noue, passing Puits Mignon (on the left). Leave this street and go straight ahead on a grassy path towards Rue des Plantières. Walk down this street for 30 metres.

(6) Turn left onto Rue du Michelin. At the end of the street, turn right onto Sentier du Michelin, then after 30 metres turn left onto Sentier de la Tuileries and continue to Rue de Metz.

(7) Follow it to the right on the pavement and go down to the bus shelter. Turn right onto Rue de la Chadotte, and after 40 metres turn left and continue straight on along Rue de la Chadotte. At the end of the street, turn left onto Rue de Metz. Follow the same route as on the way there to reach the car park of the multi-purpose hall on the right (S/E).

• Fruit and vegetable vending machines, Les Vergers du Château, Rue du Château.
• Picnic tables at the start and in the leisure park on Rue du Mallemat.
• Rectangular signs with white lettering on a green background indicate most of the paths and trails.

• At the end of the walk, you can continue for another 5 km by taking the "Sentier de Vigneulles" route, marked with purple triangles.
