(S/E) From the "Rêves de Mer" holiday village, head to the south-eastern tip of the island where your route begins. Going down the embankment, take the coastal path that runs alongside the Jardin Delaselle.
(1) As you walk along this path lined with vegetation, you will soon reach your first point of interest: the C'hleger battery. Built to guard the bay, it was rarely used. According to local accounts, the guards sometimes sounded the alarm... simply because of the fog.
(2) Continue along the coastal path. You will pass several small beaches before arriving at the most iconic one: Grève Blanche. Its very light-coloured sand contrasts with the surrounding rocks and gives the impression of illuminating the sea even on cloudy days.
(3) Continue along a long stretch of the coastal path, observing the rock formations that mark the ends of the island. The path naturally leads you to a place called Bigollé. Pass this place and you will come to a crossroads. Option: you can continue straight ahead.
(4) Alternatively, follow the route, turn left, then right and continue straight ahead until you reach the ocean. Then turn left and follow the coastal path, which leads to Roc'h, one of the windiest areas on the Île de Batz.
(5) Continuing towards the western tip, still along the coast, you will arrive at a site steeped in legend: the Trou du Serpent (Toull ar Zarpant). Tradition has it that Saint Pol Aurélien lured a dragon there before it disappeared into the waves. The sound of the surf against the rocks is still known as "the breath of the serpent".
(6) Continue straight on until you reach Rue de Grandor.
(7) Walk up the street and turn left. This climb will take you to the Île de Batz lighthouse, an imposing granite structure built in 1836 to ensure safe navigation along the northern coast of Brittany.
(8) After the lighthouse, turn right, then left and you will reach a crossroads.
(9) Turn left, then keep right twice. At the road, follow it to the right and continue to Mezou Koparkou.
(10) Keep to the right. At the crossroads, turn left and then keep left at the four-way fork. At the next crossroads, continue left towards Goalès.
(11) Cross the hamlet, staying on the same side, then turn right before turning left. At the junction, follow the road to the left, then continue straight ahead before turning left twice in succession. At the next junction, turn left at a 90° angle and continue straight ahead to the Sainte-Anne Chapel. In the past, families would place a pebble here to wish sailors a safe return.
(S/E) Continue along the path before keeping to the right to reach the holiday village.
