(S/E) Explore the eastern part by taking the coastal path to the right of the garden entrance. Continue along the coast and admire the scenery and sites such as the C'helger battery. Continue along the coast and then head north, still on the coastal path, passing close to numerous beaches. Make a half-circular loop and arrive at Ar Argoumanant beach. Continue straight ahead, staying close to the coast.
(1) Continue along the path for a long time before reaching the rocky point of Porz Doun.You can enjoy an interesting sea view and discover the power of the waves on this side of the island.Thencontinuealong the coastal path, following the coastline and observing its many rocky points. At this point, you can see a huge mansion in the Bigollé area in the distance. It invites you to continue straight ahead.
(2) When you reach the Grande Mare aux Canards and the wash house, take the path on the right and then right again to reach another point.
(3) After completing a half-circular path on this point, you will arrive at the rock known as "Le Roc'h", famous for being the most windswept spot on the island with an impressive stack of rocks. Continue along the same path, following the coastline and discovering the island's many rocky points and natural landscapes.
(4) Continuing on, you will arrive at the western tip of the island where you can see the Trou du Serpent, a legendary granite chaos: Saint Pol Aurélien is said to have lured the dragon that was terrorising the island here, then subdued it before it disappeared into the waves.
(5) Continuing along the coast, opposite the Trou du Serpent, you will arrive at the Corps de Garde, also known as the Maison du Corsaire. It was used to house customs officers and battery operators during times of hostilities. After passing the Corps de Garde, take the path on the left (you can continue straight ahead if you prefer) and cut across to Porz Reter beach.
(6) Then take the second path in front of you, the one that leads north. When you reach an intersection, take the upper passage, continue on the road to the left, then at the end of the path, facing a new road, turn right and continue on this road.
(7) You will arrive at the lighthouse. It is open to visitors from April to October and during school holidays, and offers a panoramic view of the island. After visiting the lighthouse, continue along the main road, but before passing the Phare crêperie, turn right and then left. Continue straight ahead, taking sandy paths that run alongside beautiful Breton beaches. Continue past beaches, rural houses and natural landscapes. Continuing along the coast, you will arrive at Bourg (town centre), where you can explore the various shops and restaurants as well as Porz Kernoc beach.
(8) Continue to the harbour, go down a long slope lined with restaurants and arrive at the landing stage. On your left, you will see a long path that you need to take. Then continue straight ahead on the main road. Do not take the first path on your right, but the second one, indicated by numerous signs. After turning right, continue along the small lane until you reach the Croix du Rhu intersection.
(9) There are two roads in front of you. Take the one on the left and follow it straight ahead for a few minutes, passing the youth hostel.
(10) A little further on, you will come to another intersection: take the path on the right, then the one on the left. Continue straight ahead, passing several typical houses. Staying on this street, you will approach sand dunes and grass. A sandy path opens up on the right at a chapel: take it, then continue until you see a white gate. You are at the entrance to the garden (S/E).
