Parking at Hangar Boehler (Rue des Promenades)
(S/E) Drive up Rue du Beau Site, ignoring the intersections. Continue to the start of the vineyard, where the road becomes a dirt track. Follow it to the next intersection and keep right. At the second fork, turn right and continue to the end of the road.
(1) When you reach a second intersection, cross the widening path and continue straight ahead, slightly to the right. After about 100 metres, turn right onto Rue de la Croix in Avolsheim. Follow the street and continue straight ahead on the D127, Rue de la Gare.
(2) At the playground, turn left onto Rue Saint-Materne and then left again to pass in front of Saint-Materne Church and Saint-Ulrich Chapel. At the end of the street, opposite the river, continue right onto Quai de la Bruche. Cross the Vauban dam bridge and continue straight ahead onto Rue des Écluses. Join the Route de Soultz-les-Bains (D45).
(3) Turn right onto this road and continue straight ahead for about 400 metres.
(4) Turn left onto Rue Philippe Grass. Ignore the intersections and take Chemin du Riesling on the left. Continue along the dirt road that climbs to the right of the cemetery and the Chapelle Saint-Denis.
(5) Continue along the road after the chapel.
(6) Turn right at the second intersection. Continue straight ahead until you reach the large crossroads and turn left twice. At the next intersection, turn right to climb up to the statue of the Sacred Heart overlooking Horn Hill. We highly recommend stopping here to enjoy the view.
(7) Continue along the road and make a quick left and right turn.
At the end of the road, keep right, then left, and continue straight ahead until you reach the main road in Dahlenheim (D118).
(8) Turn left, then right onto Rue du Scharrach and follow it to the end. Continue straight ahead on Rue des Pierres. Keep left to join the gravel path and turn left at the next intersection. At the end of the road, turn right and continue straight ahead for about 200 metres. A small path on your left will take you to the front of the Chaux factory.
(9) Turn right onto the D118, join the path on the left and continue straight ahead. At the first intersection, go straight ahead, and at the second, keep right.
(10) At the end, after the calvary, join Rue de Soultz-les-Bains (D45) and turn right. Follow Rue de Strasbourg, cross the D422 and continue along Rue Saint-Maurice opposite. At the first intersection, turn left onto Rue des Vignes and follow it to the end.
(11) It turns into a dirt road, which you follow for about 1 km, ignoring the crossroads and following the Anneau Bleu signs. You will pass through a protected natural site called Jesselsberg. If you are lucky, you will see the orchids for which it is famous.
(12) The blue ring markings will direct you to turn left, then continue straight ahead towards Finkenberg.
(13) When you reach the small group of houses (Finkenhof), take the path on the right. At the third intersection, turn right and then left.
(14) Stop to admire the view from the Bruderthal plots. Turn left and walk down Rue des Promenades to return to your starting point: Rue du Beau Site on the left (S/E).
