The starting point is on Rue de Chauffour, either in the car park on the right after the "Au Chaudffour" bakery or in the post office car park (the two car parks are 100 m apart).
(S/E) From either car park, head towards Boën via Rue du Chauffour. Continue straight ahead along Route de Boën.
(1) After the cemetery, take the path on your left. Pass by a dovecote and cross the Côtes du Forez vineyards. At the road, turn right.
(2) Climb up to the Pic de Purchon nature reserve. Once at the top, turn left towards the "Madone" statue, where you can admire the view over the village of Champdieu and the Forez plain.
(3) Then retrace your steps and continue straight ahead on Chemin des Planes until you reach a fork near a large farm building.
(4) Turn left and continue along Chemin des Côtes, which will take you back towards the village of Champdieu. At the end of the path, cross the small bridge and you will come to a tarmac road.
(5) Turn left, walk 50 metres and turn right onto Chemin de la Garde. After a few hundred metres, turn left and go around the field to reach a small wooden bridge. Cross the bridge and continue straight ahead.
(6) At the tarmac road, turn left and continue straight ahead to reach the village at a place called l'Azelier.
(7) Turn right onto Rue de l'Arzalier, then turn right again onto Chemin des Fosses and left onto Rue du Château.
(8) At the end, turn left onto Rue de l'Hospice, then right onto the street that passes near the church and continues onto Rue Begonnet Biron.
(9) At the end of the street, turn right towards Place de la Barrière, then head left onto the bridge. Continue straight ahead on Rue de la Mairie. After the town hall, turn right onto Rue de Chauffour to return to the starting point (S/E).
