Scenic path above Lahr

Parking is available on Scheerbachstrasse.

(S/E) From Scheerbachstrasse, head up Krummhalde-Lahr Moltkestrasse. The road becomes a track that leads out of the town and passes through meadows to a junction just before the entrance to Sulz.

(1) Turn right and, at the next junction, turn left to reach a second junction where you keep left to follow the Ernethof-Kreuzweg to the Kreuzweg.

(2) At the Kreuzweg, continue straight up the hill to reach Drei Bannstein, where there is a shelter with a table and benches.

(3) Continue uphill and join the road as you emerge from the forest. Follow it to the left towards Langenhard, passing the chapel and then the Auberge Eiche.

(4) After the inn, walk past the car park and continue along the road to the left. Walk between a number of houses and carry on, heading north-east, until you reach the bus stop (on the left) and a farm (on the right).

(5) Turn right. The path runs between the farm buildings and leads into a woodland further on. Continue along this path until you reach the Blinsberg Bombach junction.

(6) Follow the path down to the left. Ignore the path branching off to the right, then a few metres further down, take care and follow the path down to the left to reach a fountain. After the fountain, continue down this same path until you reach the junction with the Bombach Glasbrunnenweg-Hohberg.

(7) Carry on along the path straight ahead, then at the bend, follow the path leading uphill to the right to reach a junction on the Hohberg.

(8) Follow the path on the right, ignoring the path branching off to the left, to reach the Hohbergsee, which lies below behind the trees. Continue straight on, passing between the buildings until you reach the next junction.

(9) Turn left and walk up the street until you reach a woodland further on. Ignore the path on your right and, a few metres further on, follow the path that climbs to the right through the trees until you reach a wider path higher up, the Waldlehrpfad.

(10) Follow this path to the right until you reach the next junction (Lahr Forsthaus).

(11) Turn left, then follow the^first path branching off to the right and heading up to the Heidengraben.

(12) Take the hairpin bend to the right and head towards Lahr.

(13) Take the^first street on the left and, after the right-hand bend, you’ll reach Scheerbachstrasse, where the car park is located (S/E).
