From Dangé-Saint-Romain, take the D78 towards Oyré. Turn left at a place called Les Hardouins and drive to the woods near the Bois de Cuismes car park.
(S/E) At the sign on the right of the car park, follow the stony path down to the road. Take the hairpin bend to the left and immediately head up the path through woodland of various species until you reach the junction.
(1) Turn right, follow the path to the end, staying amongst the trees until the next junction with theGR®655.
(2) In the middle of the fields, turn left along the hedge onto theGR®. Continue straight on and at the next junction (elevation 112), leave theGR® and turn right onto a grassier path. After a bend and a pretty copse of birch trees, among others, pass through the clearing used as a hunting area. You will then come to woods, partly consisting of conifers, on a more earthy path. Continue to the road.
(3) Carefully take the road to the right, keeping to the right-hand side, which is more suitable. At the crossroads just after, cross over and turn left towards Maison Neuve. Pass in front of a 19th-century château with beautiful trees and arrive at a Y-junction.
(4) At the last house, turn right onto the tarmac path. Continue along this long, straight path running parallel to the power line. After the gate, the path, situated amidst the heathland, widens and is muddy for the most part. Go straight on, ignoring the path on the right. Continue to the crossroads at the edge of the woods.
(5) Turn right onto a path through wooded terrain to the Carrefour des Quatre Bornes, which is the junction between the four communes of Dangé, Leugny, Oyré and Ingrandes.
(6) Turn right. Continue along the uneven path alongside the fenced-off park; further on, admire some fine oak trees on the right and some holly bushes on the left. Keep following the path and ignore the one heading off to the right. Pass a clearing, then reach the houses of La Petite Bataille and a crossroads.
(7) Head straight ahead onto the road. Then keep right immediately, heading towards Les Matteys, passing the farm and its pond. Continue straight on, ignoring the paths on the right. “After passing through wooded sections, enjoy the unobstructed views of the surrounding area”. Continue along the road to La Mouillère.
(8) Stay on the road and head down to the next village, admiring Château de Piolant in the distance, and continue to Saint-Maurice.
(9) Turn sharply right at the corner of the farm buildings to join the path. Walk past a very old chapel, then head up towards the woods. Continue straight on, skirting the woods with a closer view of the castle. Walk past the Pucelière house.
(10) Continue until you reach the road, then turn right towards the hamlet of Cuismes.
(11) After the house, keep left to return to the starting point further up (S/E).
