Ruined castle of Seray-Préaux

What remains of this feudal castle, which dominates the villages of Préaux and Satillieu from its height of 880 metres? A few ruins overgrown with vegetation and the legend of the last lord who pursued a shepherdess and was killed by the Virgin Mary, who had heard her prayers. A former Roman military post, it was a stronghold where the population came to seek shelter in times of danger.
Let your thoughts and imagination take you back to distant times.

Worth a visit

Seray Castle

Things to see in Préaux:
- Heads carved in granite on the façade of the town hall, on the village wash house and in the hamlet of Seyaret.
- Carved and worked stone lintels, such as a boot on the lintel of an old bootmaker's sign.
- The Plague Cross in the church square.

A pleasant walk on a spring morning, completed in three hours.
No difficulty; it's a shame that you can't access the foot of the castle for safety reasons, as the view must be magnificent.
Thank you to the author.

Short but pleasant route, some signs tend to be mobile and move around?
