La Fontaine Waterfalls

In Capesterre, a site that is not yet well known but is so original, waterfalls cascade onto the black sand beach that glistens in the sun. There is spectacular access along a cliff on a narrow path, but don't panic if you're afraid of heights, as it is possible to go around the other side, which is like a canyon equipped with ropes. The place is magnificent.

Description of the walk

Park in the small car park at the entrance to the Slave Cemetery.

(S/E) Take the path on the right to reach the cemetery.

(1) Turn left at almost 180° onto a more marked path that then runs along the ocean. Turn left to reach the entrance to the canyon.

(2) Here you have two options:
- for those prone to vertigo, continue to the left to find the small canyon equipped with ropes,
- for everyone else, continue along the cliff, taking great care. At the bottom, don't forget to turn around to enjoy the view of Les Saintes.
Continue on to reach Plage Sauvage.

(3) Then follow the coast and you will find the Cascades de la Fontaine waterfalls further on.

(4) Return via the same route to find the small car park (S/E).
