Access via the D918, just after the hamlet of Artigues, before La Mongie. A few parking spaces are available along the D918. Alternatively, park in the hamlet of Artigues, where a marked path leads to the D918.
(S/E) Take this road uphill and leave it on the right (caution) to take theGR®10Cmarked in white and red at the bridge. Note: after about 50 metres, leave the path to see the beautiful Arizes waterfall. Return to the path and continue to the right to reach the Cabanes de Tramazaygues crossroads.
(1) Go around them by turning right. Cross the bridge and follow theGR®10Con the left. Walk along the left bank of the Adour d'Arizes. You will arrive at the Pont des Vaquès.
(2) Cross it, leave theGR® here and take the yellow marked trail on the left towards La Mongie. Climb steadily through the rhododendrons. Pass afirst pass and then reach thesecond pass, the highest point of the hike.
(3) Descend following the marked trail until you reach a Y-shaped intersection.
(4) Turn left and follow the power lines to reach the Castillon Dam.
(5) Continue along the path, ignoring all the turnings on the right or left, until you reach the crossroads you passed on the way up.
(1) Retrace your steps in the opposite direction to return (take care) to the car park on the edge of the D918 (S/E).
