Description of the walk

Park in the car park of the Paul Michel multi-purpose hall.

(S/E) With your back to the hall, turn left onto Rue de la Forêt and follow it to a junction.

(1) Turn right towards the wetland.

(2) Follow the path, passing under the gate, until you reach the Bonne Fontaine Chapel.

(3) Continue along the path, which leads out onto Rue du Moulin further on.

(4) Turn left towards Farschviller, without crossing the bridge over the motorway.

(5) Before the bridge, turn left, then left again to follow a straight path heading west.

(6) Turn right, continue for about 400 m, then turn left at a 90° angle to join the Route Forestière du Sandweg. Follow it, following its bend to the left, leave the forest and return to the junction you passed on the way out.

(1) Carry straight on to reach the car park at the community hall (S/E).

A lovely route, with a beautiful little chapel you can visit – quite an unusual spot, I must say.
One slight downside is the last quarter of the walk: the forest paths are heavily used by tractors, which makes them difficult to walk on.
I wouldn’t recommend pushchairs or wheelchairs if you’re doing the whole circuit, though it is possible to get as far as the little chapel.

A lovely walk, well-maintained with plenty of benches and bin bins along the route. There are several alternative routes to choose from; please note that signposting isn’t present everywhere, but with the app you can easily find your way if in doubt. It’s a pleasant walk on very hot days as it’s well shaded by the forest.
