Countryside and beach from Belleville-sur-Mer

Departure point near the Bellville-sur-Mer cemetery.

(S/E) Take Rue des Pêcheurs to the left of the town hall. Pass the village hall and follow the road to the right. At the stop sign, continue straight on Route des Pêcheurs for about 300 metres.

(1) At the intersection, turn right and leave Rue des Embruns on your left. After 350 metres, leave the road and take the^GR®21(white and red markings) on the right. Walk along the cliff and then descend into the valley (caution: slippery terrain in wet weather).

(2) In the valley, turn left and descend towards the beach. After 70 metres, follow the^GR® which climbs up to the right via steps. Be careful as you are on chalk, which is very slippery in wet weather. Continue on the^GR® which turns right at a 90° angle and, at the next intersection, take the path on the left towards Berneval. Continue straight on for 400 metres.

(3) At the intersection, leave the^GR® on your left and turn right. Pass in front of the school, turn right at the crossroads and continue for 500 metres. You will come to a stop sign.

(4) Take the path opposite and follow it for 1 km, ignoring the paths on your left.

(5) Turn left after the football pitch, towards the silo. At the junction by the silo, continue along the path opposite, which passes to the left of the silo. At the end of this path, turn right. After 700 metres, you will arrive at the D925.

(6) Cross the D925 (caution: heavy traffic). Take the road opposite, Avenue de Wargemont. At the crossroads, take Rue Monique opposite, which turns right 500 metres further on. After about 100 metres, in a right-hand bend in the road, turn off onto the path that leads diagonally left into the small wood.

(7) Take the first road on the left. Follow it for 1,400 metres and, at the intersection at the end of the road, turn left onto the gravel road. You will pass in front of the greenhouses of the Derchigny garden.
After 400 metres, the path branches off to the left. Leave the path on the right and pass between two magnificent pillars. At the next intersection, turn left.

(8) Pass the Château de Bois Clieu on your left, follow the bend to the right and continue straight on Avenue Gabriel de Clieu.

(9) After 1,200 metres, you will reach the D925. Cross (be careful, there is a lot of traffic) and take the path immediately on your right that runs alongside the road. After 1500m, at the intersection, take Rue du Château d'Eau on your left for 600m. Pass the water tower on your right and, at the roundabout, continue straight ahead, still on Rue du Château d'Eau.

(10) After 150 metres, after number 14, turn left onto Chemin des Écoliers. Pass the tennis courts on your left. At the intersection after the school canteen, turn left and then immediately left again before the Georges Brassens nursery school. Take the paved path behind the school and, at the boules court, turn right. You will arrive in front of the football pitch; the path branches off to the left and runs alongside the pitch. Continue to the training ground.

(11) Follow the path around the pitch. Behind the goal on the north side, pass under the pergola on the left to reach the playground. Go around it on the left until you reach the back of the sports hall, then take the small path on the left to exit via the stairs. Cross the road and follow the path on the right. After 30 metres, turn left and continue to the intersection with Rue de la Mer.

(12) Turn left. After 200 metres, follow the path on the right or left that runs alongside the road. After 400 metres, at the intersection with Chemin du Vallon, take the path on the left and continue along Rue du 19 août 1942

(13) At the roundabout, continue straight ahead into Impasse du Morval, which leads to the sea. Walk down to the sea and then follow the beach on the left.

(14) Take the second staircase on the left to go back up. At the next intersection, leave Rue du 3ème Commando on your right, as well as the chapel, and take Avenue du Captain Portheous opposite.

(15) At number 33, take the small path that goes up to the right. At the top, turn left and then immediately right at number 23 onto the small path that goes up a staircase (^GR®). Take the^GR® on the left. At the intersection 100 metres further on, turn right and, when you reach the tarmac road, turn left onto Rue Alexandre Dumas.

(16) At the three-way junction, turn right onto Rue du Plain Marché. After 600 metres, at the stop sign, continue straight ahead.

(3) At the school intersection, turn right onto Chemin du Fileux and retrace your route to the Belleville valley.

(2) Do not continue on the outward route but continue straight ahead (south) to reach a three-way junction 400 metres away.

(17) Turn right and continue for 500 metres to reach the D113.

(18) Take the path on the right that runs alongside the D113, pass the football pitch and continue straight ahead to return to the starting point.
