Park in the car park at the entrance to Callelongue if you arrive early; otherwise, park above Les Goudes or on the side of the road between the car park and Callelongue.
(S/E) From the car park, head towards the port of Callelongue, take Avenue des Pébrons to the second barrier. Then turn left, following the red-white-black GR® markings. Climb up to a platform and continue following the GR® markings, enjoying superb views of Les Goudes. Climb Pas Edgard Heath, which can be bypassed.
(1) At Col du Brès, continue along the path and go around several escarpments, wide curves and passages with steps.
(2) Turn right to follow the blue trail, cross a sloping slab (caution) and note, to the north, the Cheminée Rampante, a stone structure that was used to evacuate toxic fumes from the Madrague lead factory. Continue climbing to the summit of Béouveyre at 366 m.
(3) Admire the 360° view from this spot and descend the summit following the blue-green markings. There are three slightly steep sections with a cable to help you down.
Reach the Col des Chèvres.
(4) Join the green trail and descend the Vallon de l'Aigle. Caution: risk of slipping on the scree. At the intersection with another trail, leave the red trail on the right and continue left on the green trail. Pass the Pas du Pin, where you will be rewarded with a bird's-eye view.
(5) Aerial view. Descend carefully: it is a little dangerous but the view is magnificent.
Afterwards, you can visit the Grotte de l'Ours and the Grotte de Saint-Michel d'Eau Douce.
