Park in the car park along the Semois at the foot of the Pont Saint-Lambert in Vresse-sur-Semois.
(S/E) Head east, cross the stream over the Old Bridge and follow the Semois along a wide path. Further on, leave the path and take a narrow path on the right. After a few buildings on the left, you will arrive at a plateau, the starting point of the wicker bridge.
(1) Cross the Semois river via the footbridge, taking care. At the exit, turn right and enter the village of Laforêt. Walk up the village to the Fontaine de Pépé Crohet fountain.
(2) Turn right onto the Sentier des Légendes (Legends Trail). At the next crossroads, leave the wide path and climb up the trail, which is marked with plaques bearing proverbs. At the top, the trail continues to the left. Follow it to reach the viewpoint over Laforêt.
(3) Descend (west) to reach the tarmac road. Turn right, ignore the paths on the right and walk past the houses. The path becomes a trail and enters the woods. After about 50 metres, it leads to a major crossroads. Ignore the path on the right and take the path next to it, which climbs up to the Saloru viewpoint. Continue north-west to the viewpoint.
(4) Descend to the left via a steep, winding path. You will reach the road. Turn right and head towards the bridge over the Semois.
(5) Cross the bridge, leave the Route de Vresse on your right and, after the left-hand bend, climb up to the right of the church. At the signpost, head north, leaving the holiday chalets on your right and continue climbing for about 700 metres.
(6) In a slight right-hand bend, continue straight ahead on the path which continues flat, crosses a path on the right and crosses a stream in a left-hand bend.
(7) Almost immediately, take the path on the left and, when you reach a road, turn right. At the next bend, take the path on the left towards the Jambon de Membre viewpoint.
(8) ***To avoid crossing the field (prohibited in Belgium!!!), go down the road for 50 metres, turn left and then left again to join the path between the fields. You will come to a small road.
(9) Turn right onto it. Ignore the two paths on the right and left. You will arrive at a well-equipped picnic area for hikers.
(10) Take a path on the left towards the woods, follow it for a few metres, and before the meadow, turn left under the fir trees, heading north-east to join the GR®. Follow it to the right and then to the left. At the end of this straight line, it continues to the left.
(11) Take a faint, sometimes overgrown path on the right, which widens as it goes, still heading south. After the dip in a small valley, a sign indicating "le Maquis" points the way to the left. Reach le Maquis.
(12) Make a small detour to the right to reach Camp des Blaireaux. To the left of the "refectory" hut, climb the path (no. 26). It intersects with a path to the left (no. 26-27) which descends to Vresse at a calvary. Continue to the left and admire the artwork decorating the wall. Continue to Pont Saint-Lambert and the car park (S/E).
